U2: 10 Best Album Tracks

4. Ultraviolet (Light My Way)

Ultraviolet (Light My Way) began as two demos once called Ultraviolet or 69 and the other called Light My Way which ultimately came together to become one.

Although the song is about the love and dependency men need from women, it also features many religious interpretations with many reviewers stating the lyrics are similar to the Book of Job 29:2 -3.

An unusual fact about Ultraviolet is that the band have only ever played the song as part on an encore, although it was retired for a 15 year period, eventually coming back into set rotation during the 360° Tour where it was one of the highlights due to the light show that would accompany the song.

A funny fact about the recording of the song is that Larry Mullen Jr. dropped a drumstick midway through recording. After much debate, the band decided to use the take to preserve the spontaneity of the track.
