Valentine's Day: 20 Greatest Love Songs Of All Time

3. €œMake It With You€ - Bread

http://youtu.be/K4R93xnKink People laugh at soft rock now. It€™s mocked as the music of elevators, grocery stores, waiting rooms. As Dr. Evil would say, €œIt€™s the Diet Coke of rock.€ However, I€™m sending out a plea: don€™t be so hasty to disrespect the genre. When soft rock began to emerge in the 60€™s, it was populated by singer-songwriters like James Taylor, Carole King, Jim Croce, and Joni Mitchell (if you don€™t know who they are then it may be too late for you already). They weren€™t guitar smashers like The Who, or soul gyrators like Marvin Gaye, but they had something to say... usually about a groovy, or not-so-groovy relationship. €œMake It With You€ was dropped on Bread€™s 1970 album, On the Waters. Gate€™s voice is like honey on the track, poured out on the lyrics which are equally sweet.
