Weezer: 10 Worst Songs You Need To Forget
4. Love Is The Answer
Say what you like about Weezer’s often worst regarded album Raditude, but you have to admire the introspective band branching out their musical collaborators throughout the album. Sure the Lil Wayne so-bad-it’s-good Can’t Stop Partying was a total cringefest, but it was nice to see The All-American Rejects write a song for their heroes on Put Me Back Together. Sadly, Weezer strayed too far out of their sound by track 7.
Love Is the Answer was a song rejected for 2005’s Make Believe, then the Red Album happened without a trace of the song. It was then given to Sugar Ray to release in 2009, only for the band to re-record it themselves for Raditude in the very same year. If you dumped your song away to Sugar Ray, that probably means it should've stayed that way.
Rivers Cuomo is a spiritual guy, but Weezer is not a spiritual band. Their sound has never reflected that. The Indian vocals by vocals by Amrica Sen and sitar by Nishat Khan stick out like a sore thumb as a result. It shouldn’t feel cheesy with talented Eastern artists, but on a Weezer rock song with the flying dog on the cover - it does.
