Metalcore is hardly a genre with widespread mainstream acceptance, nor indeed is almost anything related to hardcore punk or metal in general. It has a dedicated following, however, and is much more preferable to much of the drivel that experiences mass popularity. Having won Best International Newcomer at the Kerrang Awards, Of Mice And Men, named after the John Steinback novel of the same name, have been making waves for several years since forming after Austin Carlile's departure from Attack Attack.
