The A-Z Of 2013's Breakout Acts

W €“ The Wonder Years

The genre of pop punk has been sorely unappreciated by the masses since its heyday in the late nineties and early noughties, where you couldn't go far without hearing the latest releases by the likes of Blink 182. Regardless of this fact, new bands continue to emerge within the genre and manage to amass dedicated followings, and one of the many to do so in recent years has been The Wonder Years, a Pennsylvania six-piece whose fourth album, 'The Greatest Generation' has garnered universal acclaim, achieving an aggregated score of 96 on Metacritic and glowing reviews from publications such as Absolute Punk and the Alternative Press. Doubling the sales of their previous releases, the album has been the centrepiece of a crowning year (which has seen them play in the UK and Japan, as well as alongside the likes of A Day To Remember and Me vs. Hero) for the band, whose ability to tell stories through songs really needs to be replicated by more artists across the entire musical spectrum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tnsl4QPwtJo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Spy-zkWHO4Y
