The A-Z Of 2013's Breakout Acts

F €“ Foxes

It's been a whirlwind year for Louisa Rose Allen, otherwise known as Foxes, as a twelve month period has seen her transform from an almost complete unknown (albeit with an EP that was strong enough to make this writer tip her as a potential Bond theme singer back in November 2012) to one of the UK's biggest musical prospects. One reason for this ascension has been the songs she has been featured on, which include the global dance hit 'Clarity' (with Zedd, who we'll cover in course), 'Right Here' with Rudimental and 'Just One Yesterday' with American band Fall Out Boy, who have made a somewhat triumphant return to the music scene this year after a considerable hiatus. Her solo output has attracted attention in the last few months as well, with 'Youth' reaching #12 in the UK charts and achieving significant levels of airplay on Radio 1. With other serene songs such as 'White Coats', 'Beauty Queen' 'Let Go For Tonight' and 'Echo' sure to gain more attention when they are re-released as part of her upcoming album, 2014 looks bright for the Hampshire-born singer-songwriter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q7tfuUzK5W4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sx0x5aRPhgk

Honourable Mention €“ Florida Georgia Line

Duo Florida Georgia Line have been one of its rising stars this year, going straight to #4 in the US with their debut album, 'Here's To The Good Times', peaking inside the top 30 with 4 consecutive singles and receiving prominent promotion on a recent episode of WWE Raw, where they performed live. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PvebsWcpto
