The A-Z Of 2013's Breakout Acts

E €“ Ella Eyre

Collaborating with more established acts has proved to be a highly effective way for upcoming artists to garner mainstream exposure over the last few years. London singer-songwriter Ella Eyre had racked up five such collaborations with four different artists prior to the release of her debut EP in the middle of December, allowing the public to get a preview of her enormous vocal talents. Commercially, her biggest success has been 'Waiting All Night', a #1 single with Rudimental (who we'll get to in time). Well worth a listen, however, is 'No Angels' with Bastille, a majestic piece incorporating elements of the backing track of The XX's Angels, vocals from TLC's 90s hit No Scrubs and dialogue from the classic Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho. With BRIT school training under her belt, expect big things from the nineteen year old as the months count down to the release of a debut album, particularly whilst her first solo single 'Deeper' and a collaboration with Naughty Boy and Wiz Khalifa, 'Think About It', are gathering momentum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2EHe2rmNF0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqPC3dmKFdw
