10 American Restaurant Chains That Need To Come To The UK

4. Cold Stone Creamery

There are a variety of ice cream parlours in the UK already, such as those by Baskin Robbins. Given the usually dreadful British weather in the winter it could be considered to be a strange decision for any ice cream chain to move to the UK. But let us remember that the United States has similar weather in the northern part of the country and it should be a matter of surviving the winter and letting the summer subsidise the year round takings. But why Cold Stone Creamery? Well, they have a fantastic gimmick. You know how in normal parlours you choose your ice cream and then you can ask for toppings on it? Well with Cold Stone they place the ice cream onto granite and chop and mix the toppings into it, creating something special. They even have specific recipes and combinations €“ think of it like an ice cream parlour meeting a milkshake place. Cold Stone is already available across the world, including in Europe €“ but not in the UK and this seems to be something of an anomaly €“ one that we hope the company rectifies soon. While we wouldn't expect one of these on every street corner, they could certainly be a destination ice cream parlour €“ an idea that already exists with the Häagen-Dazs store in Leicester Square.
