10 Dumbest Things In Harry Potter And The Cursed Child

1. Delphi Is The Child Of Voldemort And Bellatrix Lestrange

Delphi is a mysterious figure throughout The Cursed Child. As the narrative progresses, it becomes increasingly clear that there is more to her than she's letting on.

At the end of the third act, it is revealed she is the child of Voldemort and Bellatrix. Such a plot point reeks of fan fiction. It’s the kind of material a ten-year-old would make up after having just seen the movies for the first time.

Given that Voldemort was meant to be an almost inhuman character, it simply doesn’t make sense for him to have been seduced by Bellatrix.

What’s more, it’s also incredibly unlikely. Bellatrix would have been in her mid-forties when Delphi was conceived, and Voldemort would have been in his early-seventies. As such, the chances of pregnancy were almost impossible.

It would have been much better if an established villain in disguise had tried to bring back Voldemort using the Time-Turner. This would have made more sense and provided the opportunity for an authentic, believable plot twist.

Why Rowling didn't immediately reject this idea is anyone's guess.
