10 Extinct Disney World Attractions You Need To Know About

7. Mr Toad's Wild Ride

Another ride that caused uproar when it closed was Mr Toad's Wild Ride.

Based on the attraction at Disneyland, Walt Disney World's version opened in the Magic Kingdom in 1971.

Similar to the California attraction, Mr Toad's Wild Ride was a slow adventure through the world of the Wind in the Willows. The ride ran on two different tracks so depending which area you boarded, riders would get a completely different experiences.

In 1998 the ride closed to make way for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Many fans lamented the loss of one of the Magic Kingdom's opening day attractions.

Fans of the original crazy frog can spot a number of small tributes to him around Magic Kingdom, including a portrait of him handing over the deeds of his house to Owl in the Pooh ride. You can also a find a dedication to Mr Toad in the pet cemetery in the Haunted Mansion.
