10 Extinct Disney World Attractions You Need To Know About

3. Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes

Up until 1994, adventurers in the Magic Kingdom could take a canoe across the Rivers of America.

Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes first set sail on the opening day of the Magic Kingdom back in 1971. Here riders would be able to board the 35 feet long boat and row (yes row) themselves across the water to Tom Sawyer Island.

Up to 20 guests could fit into the boat at any one time. Those traveling in the boats would be lead by a cast member and would be required to navigate around the other vessels that call the Rivers of America their home.

It is likely that the attraction closed due to low attendance numbers in 1994.

If you wish to canoe around the Rivers of America you can still visit the attraction at Disneyland in California.
