Arguably the most memorable location in Final Fantasy VII is the Gold Saucer, the opulent, eye-stingingly neon amusement park which Cloud and co. visit during the game in a period of downtime to relax after the drama that has unfolded thus far. However, the dark shadow of Sephiroth isn't far away, as a fortune read by Cait Sith (who then joins your party as a result), foretells a great loss coming in Cloud's life, which would eventually be Aeris' death. Still, with its colourful array of enjoyable attractions (almost to the point that it's completely garish), this is pretty much cooler than any real amusement park I've been to. Complete with a hotel, chocobo races and countless other games and events, there's something for everyone to just take a load off and relax before heading back out into battle.
