Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis were the first comedy duo to break into national TV, which made them incredibly famous across the United States. Unlike other duos who came before, these two funnymen came right into a home's living room without the hassle of having to dress up and visit a club or movie theater.

Their collaboration began in 1946 and continued for a decade, which saw the released of 16 films. They performed at all the major comedy clubs in the United States throughout the 1940s and '50s and usually featured Martin singing on stage and telling jokes while Lewis would dance around doing silly things behind his back.

As funny as these two men were together, they were equally hilarious apart. Sadly, their partnership came to a bitter end in 1956 following the publication of an article in Look Magazine that featured the men on the cover.

Martin was cropped out of the photo on the cover, which spurned him to comment that Lewis was "nothing to me but a f-----n dollar sign." The bitter animosity grew from there and the two never worked together again.
