5. Great Scott! Lloyd's Three Peak Challenge
Since retiring from professional football and surviving leukaemia, Lloyd Scott has dedicated his time to charity, fundraising by participating in wide range of challenges. This has included an expedition to the North Pole, climbing Kilimanjaro on a llama, and countless marathons in a deep-sea diving suit.
In 2020, Lloyd donned the 130lb attire once again and challenged himself to scale the three highest peaks in the United Kingdom: Ben Nevis, Scaffell Pike and Snowdon. This was all in aid to help disadvantage and disabled children get an opportunity to take part in sporting activities
Each ascent involved camping overnight and took a huge amount of energy, with Scott having to eat over 5,000 calories a day to prepare. As of October, he has raised over £47,000 for the Lord Taverners.
Reflecting on his achievements, Lloyd proclaimed, "When I had my illness, it really brought that side of things out, and I just wanted to put something back to help others."
