10 Hilarious Lies North Korea Told The World

The origins of the 'burger' are a hotly contended subject.

At least 6 Americans make vehement claims that they were the inventors of the decadent dish in the late 1800's but history suggests that the meal may have been invented earlier. The Romans ate something that resembled a burger in the 4th century and Genghis Khan brought the early editions of minced meat to Russia, which then made its way across Europe to Germany - or more specifically to Hamburg - but nobody seemed to place it between bread, or at least nobody wrote that part down. And thanks to that omission from the records we are left with one of life's great unsolvable mysteries.

But not in North Korea. In North Korea the Supreme Commander, Kim Jong-il, was the inventor of the burger. At least 100 years after it had actually been invented.

Apparently we can add time traveller to the ever impressive list of qualities that the now deceased leader had at his disposal.

The Associated Press distributed the story and a version of the original article can be seen published here.
