When Los Angeles resident Peter Fabiano answered his door on a Halloween night, he was expecting a group of mischievous youngsters asking for candy. Instead, he was greeted by a disguised adult who promptly shot him in the chest then ran away. It turned out that the shooter was a woman named Goldyne Pizer, who was friends with a woman named Joan Rabel. The two had conducted a plan to get Peter Fabiano out of the picture, as Rabel was in love with Fabiano's wife. Peter Fabiano died from his wounds, while both Pizer and Rabel were jailed for second-degree murder.
