10 Joe Rogan Experience Guests That Didn't Live Up To Expectations
2. Mel Gibson & Dr. Neil Riordan #1066
Likely the single most high-profile guest on the list, and among the most famous to ever appear on the JRE, when Rogan announced that Mel Gibson would be featured on the podcast fans everywhere anticipated what was sure to be an all-time classic episode.
With a career soaked in success and controversy in almost equal measure, Gibson seemed like the perfect guest to discuss some of his life in the long-form format provided by the JRE.
Unfortunately, Gibson's contribution to the podcast was primarily relegated to annoyingly clicking a pen into the microphone with Rogan seemingly too courteous to ask him to stop.
Much like the aforementioned episode with Carlos Condit, Gibson's appearance was marred by him not featuring alone. Gibson was joined by Dr Neil Riordan, an expert in stem cell research with much of the podcast consisting of a conversation between Rogan and Riordan with Gibson rarely chiming in.
Despite the episode ultimately being an interesting discussion on the efficacy and future of stem cell treatments, fans expected more from a discussion featuring one of the most recognisable figures in the history of the podcast and who could blame them?
