10 Joe Rogan Experience Guests Who Have Died

2. Barry Crimmins (1953 - 2018)

Barry Crimmins was a truly unique indvidual. Another favourite comedian among his fellows, he was known for his politically charged monologues and his anti-establishment stance on pretty much every subject. During the '80s he railed against the Reagan administration and later in life became known for his extreme disdain for the Catholic Church. Crimmins was noted for his passionate comedic delivery that bordered on anger.

The reasons for Crimmins violent vocal outburst were revealed when he admitted live on stage that he was a victim of sexual abuse as a child. During the 1990s, Crimmins posed as a young child in AOL chatrooms to gather evidence and expose a number of child abuse rings that were prominent during the early days of AOL's launch. He submitted his evidence to the FBI and, as a result, AOL made efforts to create safer online spaces.

The 2015 documentary Call Me Lucky is an insightful yet painful examination of his life. All the details of his abuse as a child were laid bare, giving a greater understanding as to why he was so vehement in his condemnation of the Catholic Church.

This guy was a true fighter for justice, and his death in 2018 was a sad blow for the cause of anti-child abuse activism.
