10 Magic Tricks That Went Disastrously Wrong Live

2. TV Presenter Gets A Nail Through Her Hand

We've seen hundreds of live TV mistakes over the years - nipple slips, accidental cuss words, wardrobe malfunctions - but we don't often get to see a host be impaled by a nail.

But that's exactly what happened on Question For Breakfast, when Polish host Marzena Rogalska agreed to take part in a trick that required her to slam her hand down on a brown paper bag.

There were three bags in total; two of them empty, and one containing a nail. The bag she went for was supposed to be empty, but in this case, it wasn't - and the unfortunate presenter found the nail lodged in her hand when she brought it back up.

Rogalska's screams of pain are chillingly genuine, and the magician's relaxed reaction is probably a bit too nonchalant, but luckily, her injuries weren't too significant, and she later posted a video on Facebook to tell everyone she was ok.

Only one thing is certain: this magician has made his chances of a lucrative TV career disappear into thin air.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
