6. Tear Gas Attack On Palestinians

During a protest against nearby Israeli settlements in the West Bank Village of Azun, near the town Qalgilya in late February, Palestinians run away from tear gas fired by Israeli security forces.

The attacks echo the events of 2001 when just six days after the landslide election of Ariel Sharon, Israeli soldiers responded to a Palestinian rifle attack by shelling neighbourhoods on the Gaza Strip. More than 300 Palestinians were left homeless after the attacks.
