10 Most Stunning Things Ever Said On The Joe Rogan Experience

7. "To Arrive To That Next Chapter In Life, You Have To Forget The Chapter That Came Before" Mike Tyson #1227

Those who were around when Mike Tyson was enjoying his terrifying prime as one of the hardest-hitting fighters ever to step foot into the ring will understand just how much Iron Mike has grown as a person since his retirement from boxing in 2005.

Despite clocking in bittersweetly short at just under 90 minutes, Tyson's appearance on the JRE in 2019 is legitimately one of the best episodes in the history of the show, with Mike and Joe sharing a number of interests outside of combat sports.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the interview was when the former Undisputed World Heavyweight Champion described how it was important for him to draw a line between the person he used to be during his fighting career and the person he is now. Tyson clearly has become a thoughtful and considerate person since his retirement from competition, and he believes that it's important that he makes a distinction between himself now, and the ruthless fighter he once was.

"I look at the guy [Boxing Tyson] as someone who's given me a platform to forget about that guy... In order to arrive to that next chapter in life, you have to forget the chapter that came before you and focus on the chapter ahead of you."
