10 Must Have Gadgets Coming Out In The Next Year

7. Korg Cliphit

We're all guilty of it, sat in the office, bored in between tasks, we tap on the desk with a pen or pencil and get a good rhythm going and before you know it, you're pretending you're John Bonham with a pair of 2Bs and the empty office in front of you is your Knebworth. Yeah, that. Well for all desktop drummers out there, Korg have revealed the Cliphit, a curious little toy that allows you to stop imagining the sounds those pencils could be making and gives you some genuine drum samples. The Cliphit features three wired clips which you simply attach to anything in reach, when you hit attached items the Cliphit triggers sampled drum sounds and outputs them through a little speaker. There are several options such as rock kits, pop kits, hip hop kits and you can assign individual sounds to each clip such as bass drums, snares, toms and cymbals. At £99 the Cliphit is a little pricey for what is likely to be used as a toy, but as a practice tool for drummers it could be invaluable, especially for those where space and noise are issues and a full drum kit would cause problems.

I am a man of many interests. I am a passionate gamer, running my own YouTube channel (The Gadget Addicts) showing off the best of modern gaming in the form of Let's Play videos. I am an ardent musician, having been a guitarist for the past 13 years. I am also a massive geek, I adore science fiction and fantasy films and TV shows and am trying to work up the courage to start writing a novel. If I can ever think of a good story to tell... I live with my wife in the North East of England and own a belligerent little black cat.
