Groundskeeper is yet another profession on our list that doesn't immediately come to mind when one thinks of dangerous occupations. However, maintaining a football field, golf course, or even a parking lot isn't as safe as one might think.

In 2016, in the United States, there were 217 groundskeepers who suffered fatal injuries, based on numbers provided by USA Today. Moreover, there were another 20,100 people who suffered non-fatal injuries on the job.

The gig often requires individuals to work in a variety of weather conditions. As such, a number of casualties are the results of slip and falls. Groundskeepers are also known to use heavy equipment, machinery, and sharp objects, all of which set the stage for a number of accidents.

While it may seem simple on the surface (no pun intended), Groundskeeping is a physically demanding job that requires a great deal of both care and caution.
