10 Problems Only People From Sydney Will Understand

1. The Sydney Harbour Bridge Is Just Another Obstacle To Getting Home

To any visiting tourist, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most iconic pieces of architecture in the world. Not only is it the site for the New Years Eve fireworks display, but people can actually pay money in order to climb this steel behemoth. However, to every Sydneysider, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is just nothing more than pure annoyance.

And what a fustercluck of a bridge it is.

The bridge is amongst the most congested areas in Sydney, access is a confusing mess, traffic cones and misleading road markings are everywhere, every driver's default setting is 'rage', and anyone entering the city via the bridge will be required to pay an overly expensive toll. Just as a cherry on top, constant maintenance is required for the bridge in order to maintain its allure, thus roadworks are a common and inconvenient sight.

Tourists may gush over the bridge, but a real Sydneysider will look upon the bridge with anything ranging from disgust to disdain.

My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem. Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh. You can follow me at @Fry_ying_pan but don't be offended if I don't tweet back. It's usually because I've spent too long trying to think up a witty response that the reply window has closed.
