5. Male Argentine Lake Ducks Use Their Penis As A “Lasso”
If any guys reading this article are a bit self-conscious about the size of their penis they maybe shouldn’t read this one. The male Argentine Lake Duck is a Guinness World Record holder for having the largest reproductive organ of any bird species. Perhaps even more impressive though is that, in relation to body size, it has the longest penis of all vertebrate species.
This incredibly long penis tends to be around 17 inches (roughly the size of the duck itself) and is corkscrew shaped. Given the ridiculous length of their penis, some male ducks have been observed using their penis as a lasso to catch females for mating.
This lassoing ability is particularly advantageous for the males aiming to pass on their genes as the female ducks generally tend to be resistant to mating.
