10 Serial Killer Crimes That Took Years To Solve

4. John Cooper

Another recent and lesser known serial killer is John Cooper, also known as the Bullseye Killer due to his appearance on British game-show Bullseye in 1989. This TV debut was even used as evidence against him.

His criminal activity was well documented and included 30 robberies and an assault, however, in 1985 his minor crimes took a turn for the murderous. Escalating his criminal portfolio, he killed a brother and sister in their home which he later burned down. He did not commit another murder until after his Bullseye appearance. He attacked a couple while they were holidaying in Pembrookshire, he robbed them at gunpoint and then shot them both using his sawn-off shotgun.

This gun would later be part of the case against him. He was arrested for robbery in 1998 and served 14 years, however, whilst reviewing cold case files in 2009 the police linked the gun to Cooper and the murders. He was swiftly charged for the double murders and also sexual assaults in 2011. He was given a whole life sentence, which he appealed but was denied.
