The death of Elisa Lam was the subject of great speculation after her body was found in the water tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel in Los Angeles. Lam was a 21-year-old Canadian student who was visiting California in January of 2013. She initially shared a room with other guests, but was given her own room after the guests complained about her odd behaviour.

Lam normally checked in with her parents to let them know she was okay, but one day the calls stopped coming. A search was launched and her body was eventually found in the tank, which was particularly mysterious as all doors leading to the roof were locked and alarmed.

Even more bizarre was the security camera footage taken in the hotel elevator, capturing some of Lam's final moments. The unsettling video shows the 21-year-old walking in and out of the elevator, seemingly talking to someone who isn't there, hiding in the corner as though she were being chased, and gesticulating bizarrely with her arms and fingers.

A few filmmakers have expressed interest in bringing Lam's story to life on the silver screen, and a movie named 'The Bringing' was in development for a while but got cancelled. Lam's story is an exceptionally creepy one and could provide a lot of possibilities for filmmakers.

Mike Pedley hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
