Fact: Self-confidence is a fine thing. It helps you recognise your potential and gives you complete faith in your actions, setting you on the right path, no questions asked.

Too bad not many of us possess it in just the right quantity. Too much, and everyone hates you. Too little, and you can very well end up hating yourself.

Most of us belong to the latter camp. It’s not that we don’t believe in ourselves. We do, pinky promise. But we’re just not 100 percent sure on that Uni course we enrolled for, those flexible working hours we accepted or even that launch party we agreed to attend come Friday.

Moral: Once a decision has been taken, there’s no turning back, so it’s pointless cutting yourself up about whether you should have done something different. Everyone makes a bad call once in a while, the trick is to learn not to repeat it and move on.
