10 Things We Learned From Elon Musk On Joe Rogan Experience
6. He Owns Willy Wonka's House
After explaining that he intends on selling almost all of his earthly possessions, Musk noted that he currently owns an extensive property portfolio, including the former home of the late Gene Wilder best known for his portrayal of Willy Wonka in the original 1971 film.
Musk purchased the Los Angeles estate for nearly seven million dollars back in 2013, and also owns another mansion on the same street, but admitted that he had only briefly lived in the house formerly owned by the Oscar nominee.
While the home will be one of the things Musk is selling in his quest to declutter his assets, he stated that any prospective purchase will be on the condition that much of the original interior of the property is kept the same. In a tweet earlier this week he reiterated the stipulation to any potential buyer that the house cannot be torn down, or lose any of its soul.
What does that mean exactly? Who knows. But we respect the sentiment.
