10 Things We Learned From Eric Weinstein On The Joe Rogan Experience
4. Eric Believes That Humans Need To Leave Earth
As someone who doesn't claim to be even partially aware of the current scientific consensus about the likelihood that earth is still going to be around in a century, it is almost impossible to understand just how dangerous the current threats to humanities existence are.
What I do know, is when an intellectual starts explaining with serious conviction the necessity of starting to look into plans to eventually have to leave earth due to human intervention, I start listening.
Though this episode of the JRE is jovial in many parts, it is clear when Weinstein begins talking about the threat humans pose to our own civilisation, that he believes all-out self-inflicted disaster is a matter of when rather than if.
However, Weinstein did not seem to agree with the belief of fellow JRE guest Elon Musk that Mars is the likely next destination.
Where will humanity go then? Weinstein didn't seem to give a clear answer, but his demeanour seemed to suggest that it is something humanity may be forced to decide in the not-so-distant future.
