Though the episode went through a laundry list of subjects during the first two hours ranging from the pressing to the abstract, the final stretch of the show saw Weinstein start expanding on several scientific theories that left Joe, and a large stretch of the audience, this author included, often scratching their heads in confusion.

Eric begins by saying that he had conducted an episode of his own podcast with his brother, wherein the pair had discussed a theory they had formulated over several years.

In the simplest terms possible, the brothers suggest that the selective breeding carried out on the mice used for scientific experiments had led to a fundamental difference in those mice when compared to wild mice, therefore possibly affecting the results of the experiments they are used in.

Longtime fans of the JRE will already be aware of Bret's work as he has also been featured on the show several times, appearing twice by himself, and on two other occasions joined by his contemporaries in academia.
