10 Things You Didn't Know About Disney's The Jungle Cruise

9. There Never Used To Be Jokes

Just as Walt had planned for the ride to feature live animals, he also envisioned it to be a serious, less tongue-in-cheek look at the animal world.

Based on both Walt Disney's True Life Adventure series and The African Queen, the attraction was more a ride along the rivers of the world taking in the wildlife (albeit fake) around them that was much more educational than the script of today's pun filled cruise.

In the early 60's the ride began to be updated and eventually the Skipper scripts began to include jokes.

Now the Jungle Cruise is famous for its corny jokes and bad puns. Often the experience you get on the ride depends on how well your Skipper delivers the jokes. If you get a good Skipper you are in for a great ride.

Here are some of our favourite jokes:

"Before I came to the Jungle, I worked in an orange juice factory, but I got canned because I couldn't concentrate. My boss almost beat the pulp out of me..."

"That's no house cat over there. Bengal Tigers can jump over 20 feet, and we must be at least, well... 19 feet away! Don't worry, he'll jump right over us."

"And now, we're approaching the beautiful Schweitzer Falls, named after that famous African explorer, Dr. Albert Falls."
