So, what exactly is Goofy?

Goofy is an anthropomorphic dog, which basically means he's a dog that looks, talks and behaves like a human, similar to Mickey Mouse.

Pluto on the other hand is just a regular dog which why he's Mickey's pet and Goofy isn't.
