Janite Lee might not directly have influenced an election but the South Korean immigrant became a major donor to the Democratic Party in the USA and put much of her fortune to philanthropic use. She dined with President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore and her name is even on a reading room at Washington State University. Unfortunately being a good person doesn't stop you going into debt and Lee filed for bankruptcy with $700 in her account and more than $2.5million in debt. What would you spend your millions on?
