10 Weirdest Stephen King Stories You Need To Read
4. Revival
Revival is a book with a handful of themes. Religion, growth, addiction, and debt, to name a few.
Its protagonist, Jamie Morton, meets Charles Jacobs in his childhood. Jacobs is a charismatic minister with a particular interest in electricity, and it is here that the fate of the two becomes permanently intertwined.
Years later, they reconnect. Jamie is a down and out musician with a nasty drug habit, and Jacobs is now a well-known faith healer, and together they set off on a journey that will consume their lives for evermore.
Revival does that which all great King stories seem to do: perfectly capture a time, place, and the range of emotion that comes with them. It reads almost like a biography of either of the two main characters, and is written in such a way that keeps the reader guessing with every turn of the page.
Like most of King's works, it is off-the-wall in the best possible way, and it is a book that entertains from start to finish.
