10 Weirdest Stephen King Stories You Need To Read
3. Bad Little Kid
Bad Little Kid is a short story from King's 2015 collection, the Bazaar of Bad Dreams. It is hard to categorise, except by simply stating that it is at once disturbing, comedic, and chilling.
It follows the story of George Hallas, who is awaiting a death sentence for the murder of a young boy. Hallas attempts to explain his actions by telling the story of the Bad Little Kid, a child who he claimed has stalked him throughout his life without ever ageing a day, and has caused death and suicide wherever he was seen.
Bad Little Kid is the sort of story that sticks with the reader for no other reason than it is particularly creepy. It gives off a creepypasta-esque feel, and does so with the effortless grace of a seasoned writer like King. It only takes a handful of minutes to read, and it delivers on all fronts.
