5. Ronda Rousey
The only person on this list who has previously appeared on the podcast, 2015’s JRE #690 saw a very different Ronda Rousey to the one we know today. Rousey was a monster of the mixed martial arts scene, had pretty much forced Dana White to introduce women’s divisions in the UFC, and was running through the competition like WCW-era Goldberg.
Much has changed since; within a couple of months of this appearance, Rousey would lose her bantamweight title to Holly Holm in one of the most shocking moments in UFC history and would never win another fight. Reception to her time in WWE has been mixed, not helped by a series of statements which many have seen as disparaging to the profession as a whole. However, it is this unwillingness to conform, and outspoken nature that has made her such a compelling guest in the past.
Rousey also appeared on the early days of the podcast, joining Eddie Bravo back in 2011 before she had even entered the UFC. With Rousey taking around five years between appearances on JRE, and her appearing following key changes in her career, she is surely overdue for another sit down with Rogan.
