On the face of it, it’s hard to believe these two aren’t already friends. Both have been high-profile advocates for cannabis legalisation, former legitimate martial artists, and noted fans of Belgian kickboxer turned action movie star, Jean-Claude Van Damme, so presumably they would have no lack of subjects to discuss.

In many ways a microcosm of ECW, Van Dam was of course able to take as well as deal in moments of real brutality, but his unique style along with incredible technical and athletic ability are reflective of a side of the promotion that is sometimes forgotten in the face of New Jack’s attempted murders, or the state of Tommy Dreamer’s back after being hit with a kendo stick a thousand times.

Van Dam is well-placed to speak on the white heat experience of turn of the millennium ECW, as well as multiple WWE runs, and the independent circuit, and has also proved to be a thoughtful and engaging guest on other shoot interview platforms.
