...especially since Trump is a notorious liar. Sadly, lying doesn't really count as a mistake in politics. If it did, the entire history of the United States would look very different. The thing about Trump's lies is that they're so outrageously bad, and one of his least believable (yet most believed) was his insistence that he knew what a dozen other background checks, Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Sarah Palin had somehow missed: that Obama wasn't born in America and therefore literally wasn't qualified to be President. This claim carried just enough weight with certain Obama-haters (read: racists) that he kept it up for years until Obama produced his actual birth certificate-- then immediately began praising himself for forcing Obama to produce the certificate, thus settling the question. YOU'RE WELCOME, OBAMA. Donald is JUST HERE TO HELP. Then Trump started claiming something was fishy about the doctor who signed it dying in a plane crash two years later.
