Much of this is due to the direction by Ridley Scott, who managed to paint Apple as a fresh new tech company that would save the industry from conformity. Considering the scale and unique aesthetics of the '1984' advertisement, it almost seems a shame to look at Apple's current, very minimalistic style of television ads.
