From Doctor Who or Back to the Future or Looper, time travel is always an exciting sci-fi conceit.

If I was feeling particularly pedantic (which I am), I would point out that we're all travelling through time, at a rate of approximately 1 sec per second (depending on your velocity and proximity to a gravitating mass, of course), but that would be somewhat missing the point so I won't point that out.

So, is time travel in the exciting, sci-fi way possible? Probably not. Einstein didn't think so anyway.

It is sort of possible to travel forwards in thanks to relativity, but unfortunately that's a bit of a one-way street that would really only lead to having to watch your friends and loved ones whither and die sooner than you expected whilst you remain young, beautiful and alone.

So there's that.
