7. Trying To Talk Like A John Green Character

Green's characters are eloquent, poetic and intelligent €“ they discuss literature and philosophy and are often profoundly quotable.

When they aren't talking sophisticated, they're cracking jokes and wringing sarcasm and wit from every word. Fans of Green's can't help but try and re-enact these kinds of conversations with their friends, even if they do end up sounding pretentious and a little bit silly. But hey, anything that promotes generous and considerate debate has to count for something, right?
