Zooey Claire Deschanel was born on 17th January 1980, and was immediately brought up in a household heavily influenced by the TV and film industries. Her father Caleb is a renowned cinematographer who earned five Oscar nominations across several of his films, including one for his role in creating The Passion Of The Christ, while Deschanel's mother Mary Jo is an actress who starred in Twin Peaks among a host of other productions. Zooey's sister Emily Deschanel is the star of hit TV series Bones, and has appeared as the lead character Dr Temperance 'Bones' Brennan in all 204 episodes spanning over 10 years.
