13 Celebrities Who Owned 2013

8. Jay-Z, Entertainment

"I'm not a businessman. I'm a business, man." The man they call HOV spoke those words years ago, and he's done nothing but work to make them real ever since. From his days as a pusher to an emcee and on to a producer, he's been building the most impressive resumé in celebrity for well over a decade now. In 2013 he added sports agent to the list of hats he wears when he's not rocking a Yankees lid, bringing names like Robinson Cano, Geno Smith, and Skylar Diggins under his Roc Nation Sports umbrella this year. Oh, and some dude Kevin Durant, who might be the best player in the NBA? He had to give up his share of owning a basketball team to sign him. I dunno. Did I mention he owned part of a basketball team? He also followed up his 2012 collaboration with Kanye West by dropping Magna Carta Holy Grail almost out of nowhere, racking up an astonishing nine Grammy nominations in the process. This all came on the heels of an appearance on the hotly anticipated Justin Timberlake album The 20/20 Experience, where Jay showed up on the Timbaland-produced track "Suit & Tie" - the debut single from the album. Overall, a pretty stellar 2013 for Brooklyn's favorite son.
