5. Town Planners Who Hate Towns
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXLava7wETw Want to take in Elizabethan splendour of Chorltons Hough End Hall? Sorry, theres a prefab monstrosity bang in front of it now. Want to walk between the Central Library and the council building, taking in a notable and unique public walkway as you do? Soz, theres a weird glass walkway there now, protected by gates. The gates are locked by the way. These are just two from the laundry list of council planning blunders that have enabled property developers to go around vandalising the place. Just have a wander around Manchester for yourself and pay attention to how many architecturally significant buildings are obscured by some bland glass affair with an equally bland name. In fact, only recently have we been able to get a decent look at Central Library because someone put the Peace Garden in the wrong place. Heres a guy proving why we didnt need that library walkway anyway.
