Ah the bucket hat, that perennial fashion statement that at the height of it's appeal screamed 'I'm an absolute lad' or, when worn outside of blighty, 'I'm a hammered Brit abroad'. Whatever the occasion, this type of hat was a major hit across the globe, with the likes of Liam Gallagher and that bloke from New Radicals rushing out to buy one. In reality, anyone that donned the hat looked vaguely oafish. Sure, LL Cool J and Johnny Depp aping Hunter S Thompson in Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas went some way to giving this headwear at least some cred, but overall the bucket hat remains an item that deserves to burn in the depths of Nick Hancock's Room 101.
