15 Absolutely Awful Fashion Trends From The 90s

7. Platform Shoes

Like a stampeding wildebeest, Buffalo led the charge for ensuring pretty much every girl in the nineties was tottering around on their lethal yet lovely (at the time) brand of platform shoes. Going back a step, this type of show was a common sight at a seventies disco and there was even a subtler variant that was worn in the eighties; the nineties style, however, was on another level of kooky, with it being more of a platform boot than a shoe and available in some pretty wild designs, as pictured above. Blame the Spice Girls for making this bulky footwear okay to wear, but in turn thank them for killing the trend the moment they all sodded off on a plane singing 'Goodbye'.
