15 Celebrities You Had No Idea Went To Prison

4. Bill Gates

Bill Gates At the age of 58, Bill Gates is the second richest man in the world with a wealth of $67 billion dollars. With that amount of money, I'm surprised he hasn't simply bought Micronesia and renamed it Microsoftnesia. But seriously, Gates now funds a lot of charitable work including a single donation of $6.2 billion dollars at one point in 2010. Ironic that a man who has invested in G4S, a company which runs prisons, once was incarcerated in one. Gates had been arrested twice prior to that which resulted in the above mugshot, both times for traffic violations. The details of the 1977 arrest are shady and there are a variety of stories related to it, mostly in relation to something to do with Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Either allen was travelling with him at the time, or Gates borrowed Allen's car and there was beer in there or something. I've done a fair bit of searching and most of it seems to be speculation. Albuquerque Police can't find any records in relation to the mugshot. After all that he had a DUI in 1989, but in the meanwhile he became responsible for the creation of Microsoft and is still the first person that people think of when they hear the name of that company. He is a house hold name now, and undoubtable had a significant impact on the lives of anyone on this planet that has used a computer through the introduction of Windows although that is a story in itself.

I'm a pop culture addict. Television, cinema, comics, games - you name it, and I've done it. Or at least read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.
