11. Practical Jokers Keep Mucking About With The Statues
Some people can't resist mucking about with a statue. Whether it's the one of Sir Stanley Matthews in the middle of Hanley's pedestrianised shopping area or the statue of Josiah Wedgwood opposite Stoke's train station, these icons to the city's esteemed heritage are irresistible targets for practical jokes. Where has Sir Stanley's ball gone this week? What shall Josiah be gazing thoughtfully at in his hand today? The only thing limiting the answers to these questions is whether students have grown too porky to scale the tall pedestals beneath these statues.
