12. People Titter At "Saggar Maker's Bottom Knocker"

The term doesn't describe anything remotely saucy but rather a lost art in pottery making, where a young boy spanks the bottom of the saggar. Let's abandon the technical explanation at this point. These days, the phrase is mostly used when talking about the pub with the same name in Burslem. Other than now being the best name for a pub ever, the phrase is also the name of a humourous song.
